The Eatery, The University of Pittsburgh’s largest dining facility, has undergone a complete transformation, evolving into an industry-leading food hall, boasting 11 independent concepts and modern integrations designed to offer an unparalleled dining experience.

Designed with community in mind.

In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh, surveys were conducted to understand the dining experiences that students were looking for. Based on this data, The Eatery was designed to have a modern, fast-casual feel with distinct, diverse concepts.


The enhanced Eatery was designed with the community in mind. Seating arrangements foster an environment for students to gather, socialize, study, and enjoy a meal.

The new Eatery space features an array of dining destinations intended to appeal to each and every student’s dietary preferences, ranging from classic American comfort food to diverse cultural offerings, an enhanced allergen-friendly station, and plant-forward options. Halal-certified proteins will be offered at all dining destinations.

Kokumi translates to “rich taste“ or “delicious” and is believed by some to represent the 6th taste.

Kokumi is a Western-Asian inspired station, featuring Halal-certified proteins, and customizable bowls featuring wok-tossed favorites.

A celebration of the robust flavors found along the Silk Road.

For more than 1,500 years, the network of routes known as the Silk Road contributed to the exchange of goods and ideas between Europe and East Asia. Clove, ginger, turmeric, nutmeg, black pepper, cinnamon, and saffron - these robust spices were traded along the Silk Road and are highlighted in the cuisine at Saffron.

The Briny Pickle is your new “corner-deli” where the options are endless. Order your own custom-made sandwich, or pick a premade handheld or fresh-pressed panini from our deli case.

Housemade soups and local breads are also featured.

Farm Stand offers the classic salad bar experience, with a twist. Visit the station for a customized power bowl, featuring greens, grains, and fresh-grilled protiens.

Flourish, our allergen-friendly station, features a rotation of menu items devoid of the nine common allergens: Milk, Egg, Peanut, Soy, Wheat, Tree Nut, Shellfish, Fish, and Sesame

All menu items are prepared in a safe, dedicated kitchen and cooking facility.
